Mohsin Naqvi congratulates Sahibzada Farhan for winning ICC Player of the Month Award
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi congratulated Pakistani opening batter Sahibzada Farhan for winning ICC Player of the Month Award, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In his message on Monday, Mohsin Naqvi said that “winning of ICC Player of the Month Award by Sahibzada Farhan is an honor for Pakistan”.
He said that Sahibzada Farhan deserved this award due to his hectic efforts and professional approach.
Mohsin Naqvi expressed the hope that opening batsman Sahibzada Farhan will continue to show outstanding performance and win more titles through his tireless hard work.
Earlier, the Pakistan cricket team opener Sahibzada Farhan has been named ‘Player of the Month’ for February 2026.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced Farhan as the winner over England’s Will Jacks and USA’s Shadley van Schalwyk for his T20 World Cup 2026 exploits.
Although Pakistan was eliminated from the Super 8 stage of the tournament, Farhan emerged as a major positive. He attained a career-high ranking in T20I after becoming the first cricketer to register multiple hundreds in a single edition of the T20 World Cup.
In the process, he recorded the highest-ever partnership in the tournament’s history, 176 runs, with fellow opener Fakhar Zaman. Farhan also went past Virat Kohli’s tally of 319 runs, the highest in a single edition of the T20 World Cup, by a whopping 64 runs.
“It’s an incredible feeling to win this ICC award, especially for performances on the World Cup stage, where fans from all over the world are watching every moment. That makes it even more special. It was truly a tournament I’ll always cherish, and I’m determined to carry this momentum forward in the series and competitions ahead. I’m deeply grateful to my teammates for their constant support and belief in me – this wouldn’t have been possible without them,” Farhan told ICC.
