Young girl dies due to dogbite in Lahore

A joyful Eid celebration turned tragic in Lahore’s Township area, as an eight-year-old girl lost her life after being attacked by a stray dog, reported 24News HD Channel on Monday.

The young girl, identified as Mehr Qaisar, was playing in the street when the stray dog suddenly attacked her. 

Neighbors rushed her to Jinnah Hospital, where doctors tried to save her life. Despite immediate medical attention, Mehr succumbed to her injuries, leaving the community in shock and mourning.

Residents expressed anger over the increasing number of stray dogs in Township and nearby neighborhoods. Many claimed that authorities discourage media coverage of such incidents, citing court orders that prohibit the culling of stray dogs. Locals questioned whether public safety is being prioritized over animal protection laws.

The community has called on Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to take immediate action and address the stray dog issue. 

Ataullah Tarar visits residence of girl 

Later, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ataullah Tarar and his wife Sajjada Tarar visited the residence of the girl in Christian Colony and expressed their heartfelt condolence on the sudden and sad demise of Mehar Qaisar.

Rehmat Mughal, Ajmal Hashmi, Rana Saleem, Rehan Baij, Moin Butt, Amir Gujjar, Rashid Qureshi, Munnay Khan, Chaudhary Naeem and Rao Khizar was also present on the occasion.

Federal Minister Ataullah Tarar also presented a cheque of Rs5,00,000 to the parents of the girl.
