Senior police officials finalise security plan in view of PTI’s long march

Leaves of Islamabad Police personnel were cancelled as Inspector General of Police (IGP), Islamabad Dr. Akbar Nasir Khan presided over a meeting of senior officials on Sunday night at which a plan was drawn up to provide full security to the residents of the federal capital in view of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s (PTI) long march, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
During the meeting, the IGP received suggestions from the officials as how to maintain law and order situation in view of the march.
The meeting also mulled over calling the contingents of Rangers and FC from other provinces.
Former prime minister and PTI Chairman Imran Khan had yesterday (Sunday, May 22, 2022), after the party’s core committee meeting in Peshawar announced that the party would start its long march towards Islamabad on May 25 in order to press the government to immediately announce the general elections.
