Emotional scenes at Karachi airport as Saad Edhi arrives home

Saad Edhi, who was part of the “Sumoud Flotilla” humanitarian aid convoy for Gaza, returned to Pakistan on Saturday after being released from Israeli custody, 24NewsHD TV reported. 

Saad Edhi arrived at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, where he received a warm welcome from supporters and citizens gathered outside the airport.

Participants at the reception chanted slogans in support of Palestine and praised Edhi for joining the humanitarian mission aimed at expressing solidarity with the people of Gaza.

Saad Edhi represented Pakistan in the “Sumoud Flotilla” convoy, which was carrying humanitarian support for Gaza when Israeli forces intercepted the mission and detained several activists from different countries, including Pakistan.

His return to the country led to emotional scenes at the airport as supporters greeted him and expressed appreciation for his participation in the aid effort.

Saad Edhi is the son of prominent Pakistani humanitarian and Edhi Foundation Chairman Faisal Edhi, and the grandson of the legendary philanthropist Abdul Sattar Edhi. 

According to supporters, he joined the mission to show solidarity with the people of Gaza amid the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the Palestinian territory.
