Asad refuses to give credit of cut in loadshedding to ex-govt 

Federal Planning and Development Minister Asad Umer has refused to give credit to former premier Nawaz Sharif-led government for bringing down loadshedding.

In Nawaz-league’s rule, power was produced but loadshedding could not be reduced, Asad said in an informal talk with the media on Monday.

The last government did not invest in the power supply system, the minister stressed adding that the powerhouses were established but there was no need at that moment.

He claimed the PTI inherited circular debt and poor transmission lines as it got into power. However, he said  K-electric’s concerns would be addressed and another 1400MW will be added to K-electric in two and a half year. 

Asad said the government will issue a monthly report on circular debt and it spend Rs47 billion to the better supply line and added 4000MW to the national grid station.

The federal minister said a strategy on electricity was being on the cards and listed his party feats claiming to have cut down the power losses to 17.8. He said AJK will be paid for its water use and uniform tariffs will be enforced.
