PM declares “shortage of money’ as major threat for government

Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the major issue faced by the government is that “it does not have enough money to run the country, so we have to borrow”, reported 24NewsHD TV on Tuesday.

Addressing the launching ceremony of Investigation’s tracking and tracing system of the Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) for the sugar industry, PM said without the presence of a "tax culture" in Pakistan, the country's sustainability is at stake.

PM Khan compared the situation of the country to a house that struggles with financial constraints and can never move forward.

Praising the introduction of FBR’s system of track and trace, which PM Khan noted was a struggle for the FBR since 2008.

PM Khan said that this system has already been implemented in the tobacco industry and now extends to the sugar industry.

There are plans to introduce the system in various sectors including cement, fertilizer and rod sectors, PM Khan said.

Moreover, PM Khan said that today's positive developments would have "far-reaching results" in the coming time.
