Some bandits attacked a police picket in Kuchha area of Rojhan early Wednesday morning and opened fire. The police too retaliated, gunning down Lund gang head and injuring two other dacoits during the shootout, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Rojhan police spokesperson said that some dacoits stormed a police picket in Chak Bellay Shah in Kuccha area and opened indiscriminate fire on the law personnel. 

Police also retaliated and traded fire with dacoits. As a result, Lund gang head Khuda Bukhsh was killed and two other dacoits belonging to Lund and Umrani gangs got injured.

The spokesperson said that three police officials were also injured during the fight. He said that the injured cops were being provided medical treatment. 

He further said that Lund gang leader Khuda Bakhsh was wanted in several heinous cases including terrorism, dacoity and murder cases. 

The spokesperson said both Lund and Umrani gangs attacked the police picket. He said a heavy contingent of police was present in the Kuchha area. He said police were trying to lay a siege round the bandits. 

DPO Ahmad Mohiyuddin said that the police’s resolve to eliminate the dacoits was very strong. He said police would fight against them till the restoration of peace in the city and the Kuccha area.
