Punjab CM Maryam increases monitoring of DC’s performance
Demonstrating that no leniency would be shown towards those either found negligent or underperforming, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz has increased the monitoring of the steps taken to ensure cleanliness and good governance in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
It has been learnt that on the instructions of the chief minister, teams will be sent secretly to every district of the province to judge the level of governance.
The CM has also warned the contractors of Saf Suthra Punjab failing to perform well of immediate action.
According to reports, CM Maryam has expressed indignation over inadequate arrangements made for cleanliness in some cities of the province, and has ordered to withhold the salaries of those contractors not performing satisfactorily.
Similarly, she has admonished the deputy commissioners of the districts who have failed to stop incidents of dog bite and people falling into manholes.
She has also taken notice of the non-provision of free medicines at a few government hospitals.
