Sonya Hussyn blasts Nadia khan for his anti-Talha tirade
Actor Sonya Hussyn has criticised Nadia Khan for her recent on-air remarks about rapper Talha Anjum, saying that artists deserve far better treatment, especially on national television.
Sonya supported Talha Anjum’s explanation regarding the viral flag incident, stating that he only raised the Indian flag because it was handed to him by a fan, and he lifted it out of respect.
She emphasized that the gesture does not, in any way, indicate disloyalty to Pakistan. According to her, the entire conversation “could have been handled with far more dignity and grace.”
Sonya said: “With all due respect, no artist deserves to be treated like a criminal, least of all on national television. Being moved by the audience’s love and expressing it by raising a flag does not make anyone disloyal to their country.”
She added: “Talha Anjum is a self-made artist who has spent years perfecting his craft and representing Pakistan with pride on global stages.”
In a country where you can count true rap artists on your fingers, the least we can do is honour their dedication instead of diminishing it”.
This controversy unfolds against a backdrop of heightened Pakistan–India tensions, where cultural exchange has nearly collapsed since the military hostilities between the two countries during the May conflict.
