PML-N Quaid Nawaz Sharif had suggested during the Opposition parties APC on Sunday last that JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman should head the alliance of the opposition parties, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday, quoting sources.

According to the TV channel, during the APC proceedings both Nawaz Sharif and Maulana Fazlur Rehman showed unanimity of views on several issues. Nawaz Sharif also proposed that Maulana Fazl should head the opposition alliance, to be named Pakistan Democratic Movement.

The other main Opposition party, PPP, did not oppose PML-N Quaid’s suggestion while pro-Fazl smaller parties in the APC endorsed Nawaz Sharif’s proposal.

Fazlur Rehman also read the APC declaration as was suggested by Nawaz Sharif to the APC participants.
