The preparations to divide the assets of Gomal University located in Dera Ismail Khan are in the final stage, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

After sending the Gomal University Vice-Chancellor (VC) Dr Iftikhar Ahmed on forced leave for the next three months, acting VC Professor Masroor has called a meeting of the syndicate members for distribution of assets despite High Court's order in Peshawar on Saturday, September 24.

On the other hand, the legal experts have declared the syndicate meeting a violation of court orders and said those who call the meeting or participate in it will be guilty of contempt of court.

It is worth mentioning that the Acting VC has transferred Gomal University’s staff including 2 professors, 2 associate professors, 20 assistant professors, 30 lecturers, 10 laboratory assistants, and dozens of clerks and watchmen to the proposed agricultural university.

Earlier, Dr Iftikhar refused to transfer the academic and clerical staff as well as to divide the assets of Gomal University with the proposed Agriculture University in Dera Ismail Khan.
