Prices of 22 commodities surge as inflation rate hits 38.66%

The weekly rate of inflation reached 38.66 per cent after an increase of 0.93 per cent which led surge in prices of 22 commodities, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

According to the report of the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics the price of petrol increased by Rs26.6, the price of chicken by Rs31.26, high-speed diesel by Rs17.33, garlic by Rs24 per kg, and LPG cylinder with an increase ofRs15 reached Rs3148.

Onion, Rice Eri Six, Rice Tota, Eggs, Dal Moong, Dal Masoor and Dal Mash also became expensive.

Meat, cigarettes, bread, dry milk and other items including petrol and diesel also became expensive.

A minor decrease in the prices of potato, wheat flour and other items was observed during the week.
