Gandapur’s brother Faisal Amin serves defamation notice to ANP chief Aimal Wali

A legal notice has been sent to Awami National Party (ANP) Central President Aimal Wali Khan by Faisal Amin Gandapur, Member National Assembly and  brother of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, over what he termed “baseless and politically motivated allegations.”

The notice, served through Advocate Adnan Ali of the Supreme Court, accuses Aimal Wali of recklessly alleging in a media interview that Faisal Amin accepts bribes in exchange for transfers and postings of government servants in the province. The document states that these claims are “false, frivolous, fabricated, and malicious,” adding that they were made with the intention of tarnishing Faisal Amin’s reputation and discrediting the KP Chief Minister and his government.

According to the notice, the allegations not only defame Faisal Amin personally but also seek to create a negative perception about the provincial administration. It contends that Aimal Wali’s remarks amount to a political manoeuvre aimed at undermining the credibility and democratic mandate of the sitting KP government, while also casting doubt on the integrity of its governance.

The notice further highlights that the circulation of these statements through public speeches and media has caused “immense loss of reputation, mental agony, and humiliation” to Faisal Amin, besides exposing him to ridicule. It cites provisions of the Defamation Ordinance 2002 and the Pakistan Penal Code, arguing that the conduct constitutes both civil and criminal defamation.

Faisal Amin has demanded an unconditional apology from Aimal Wali within 14 days. Failing this, his lawyer has warned that a damages claim of one billion rupees will be filed against the ANP leader.
