 K-Electric earns profit of Rs 4.13 billion after tax for FY24

Board of Directors of K-Electric (KE), in its meeting held on September 23, 2025, approved the financial results for the year ended June 30, 2024, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

According to the results, the K-Electric earned a profit of Rs4.13 billion after tax by the end of June 30, 2024, and electric’s losses due to electricity theft and inflation increased by 1.8pc. 

According to the report, the recovery ratio has decreased by 1.30% compared to last year, the recovery ratio this year was 91.50%, whereas last year it was 92.80%. With the addition of the 900 MW BQPS-III plant, added additional power to system, whereas K-Electric's maximum power supply remains at 3,550 MW in FY24.

According to the reports, KE’s total transformation capacity reached 7,095 MVA with new power transformers by the end of FY24. K-Electric's power acquisition from National Grid also increases to 2,000 MW. 

According to financial report, the total of 30,000 illegal connection operations carried out in a year till June 30, 2024. In which about 3.50 lakh kilograms of illegal hooks were removed in one year. Moreover, In 2025, K-Electric announced to install 50 thousand low-cost meters for public convenience.
