EU announces Rs2b grant for Pakistan to fight coronavirus

The European Union has announced Rs2 billion grant as a response plan in Pakistan’s fight against the coronavirus, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
While appreciating Pakistan’s measures against the virus, EU Ambassador Androlla Kaminara said “We appreciate Pakistan’s efforts and response plan in the fight against the COVID-19,” and added that “EU has decided to provide Rs 2bn as welfare assistance fund to Pakistan in order to deal with this extraordinary situation.”
The EU ambassador further said that the EU would disburse this grant in various forms including the “Provision of medical equipment and awareness about the coronavirus to the impoverished people of the society.”
“It’s essential for the world to unite against the pandemic,” Androlla said.
