There is a good news for the British citizens stranded in Pakistan as nine chartered flights will take at least 2,500 of them to their home country next week.
British High Commissioner to Pakistan Dr Christian Turner said in a video message on Friday that there was progress on operation of more chartered flights from Pakistan to the United Kingdom. He said that four chartered flights to the United Kingdom would be operated from Islamabad, four from Lahore and one from Karachi. He said that British citizens who had already booked their seats did not need to re-book the seats.
On this occasion, the British high commissioner thanked all those who helped in repatriation of British citizens to their homeland over the last three weeks. He said that 10,500 British citizens had returned home after suspension of flight operation in Pakistan a few weeks ago. He said another 2,500 British citizens would return home through special flights next week. He said he was aware of the number of British citizens who wanted to go back from Pakistan.
Turner said that British citizens who had not registered so far should get themselves registered as soon as possible. He said that those British citizens who wanted to fly home from Karachi should get themselves registered on the new web portal of the British High Commission in Pakistan. He said there was no guarantee more chartered flights would be operated from Pakistan to the United Kingdom after the ones being scheduled right now.
