Murad Shah says Sindh govt will rebuild Gul plaza, compensate all victims

Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has once again pledged that the provincial government will build Gul shopping plaza in Karachi which had caught fire in January 2026 few months back in which 67 people were killed. 

Addressing the families of plaza victims, Murad Shah said that the government was committed to help all victim and there will be no lethargy regarding the reconstruction of the plaza. 

He said the victims of the Gul Plaza tragedy were not alone, the Sindh government will fully cooperate with them. 

Murad Shah asserted that there is no price of precious lives but the government will compensate who suffered losses in the fire incident. 

He said that a building of the same size will be built in place of Gul Plaza. Chief Minister said it was their responsibility to provide relief to the victims. Chief Minister Sindh said Gul Plaza will be rebuilt within two years. 

He said Judicial Commission report has been received to Sindh government , adding that the recommendations of the report will be presented in the next cabinet meeting. 

“Whoever is found guilty will be punished in light of the recommendations”, CM Sindh asserted. “No one will be allowed to take any advantage”, Sindh CM added.

He said that over Rs 300 billion has been spent on Karachi's development projects this year. Murad Shah said Shahrah Bhutto to be inaugurated next month.
