More 14 accused of TikToker case jailed on judicial remand

Lahore court Tuesday sent more than 14 accused to jail on a 14 days long judicial remand in the TikToker Ayesha molestation case. According to the 24News HD TV channel, the court had sent the accused to jail for the identification parade during their imprisonment.
As many as 92 accused were already jailed for the identify parade. The victim Ayesha Akram Baig and her teammates would identify the accused in Jail.
The police brought the accused in a prisoners’ van and presented before the court covering their faces to hide identity from the public till the final verdict in the case.
Ayesha had been assaulted by a sexually aroused mob of youth at Greater Iqbal Park (Minar-i-Pakistan) on August 14, the country’s 74th Independence Day.
The TikToker case was registered against 400 accused in Lari Ada Police Station and local police had held investigations to at least 407 people.
Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Punjab Inam Ghani has submitted a report to the Human Rights Cell of the Supreme Court (SC) in the TikToker case a day ago and informed that 30 videos and 60 photographs of the manhandling of the TikToker were collected and sent to the National Database Registration Authority (NADRA) for the verification of the suspects.
“The NADRA initially established the identities of nine men who were taken into custody, and on the basis of information provided by these men more people were rounded up. So much so that presently 92 suspects are in police custody,” reads the report.
The report further tells that geo fencing data was collected with the help of intelligence agencies. “Call data of over 28, 000 people was collected on the day of the incident, from 6:30 PM in the evening till 7:40PM,” reads the report.
