Bank robbery foiled in Sialkot, husband-wife duo arrested

Police have arrested a husband and wife duo for allegedly attempting to rob a bank in the Kingra area of Sialkot.

According to police, the accused, identified as Usman and Sana, attempted to enter the bank through the ATM area. They allegedly broke the glass lock and tried to cut through the bank’s iron grill to gain entry.

However, the suspects fled the scene without completing the attempted robbery after the bank’s security alarm was activated.

Acting swiftly on the orders of Sialkot District Police Officer (DPO) Dost Muhammad, police launched an investigation and used CCTV footage to identify and trace the suspects.

Police arrested the two accused, who are husband and wife, and recovered the tools allegedly used in the attempted robbery.

DPO Dost Muhammad said the accused were traced with the help of modern technology and scientific investigation techniques.

He said indiscriminate operations against criminal elements were continuing across the district, adding that protection of the lives and property of citizens remained the police’s top priority.
