In the National Assembly’s Friday session, Advisor to Prime Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Babar Awan accepted that delay in decisions of some most important and serious cases in the courts.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, Babar said in the assembly session that the flaws in laws related to the criminal procedure should be addressed as some cases like APS, Zainab, Noor Muqaddam, and Sialkot Tragedy are not being decided soon.

Babar moved an adjournment motion on the Sialkot tragedy in the house and said the Sialkot incident raised questions on the face of Pakistan abroad.

He told the house that the accused were arrested and hopefully police would present the challan in the court within the next seven days.

When a debate on the motion about the Sialkot tragedy was going on in the house, Interior Minister, Information Minister and Law Minister were absent.

On this opposition member, Ahsan Iqbal said that federal ministers are showing a lack of seriousness on such an important issue.

Meanwhile, Dr Darshan pointed out the quorum and the Deputy Speaker adjourned the sitting till Monday evening at 4:00 pm due to the failure of the government to complete it.

Earlier, newly elected Shakila Khalid took oath on the vacant seat of Shaista Malik.
