Heavy traffic banned in Karachi during day time to combat smog

The citizens of Karachi have expressed great satisfaction over the decision to ban heavy traffic in the city during the day time, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Saturday.

According to a notification issued by the Chief Secretary Sindh on the order of Caretaker Chief Minister Sindh Maqbool Baqir, heavy traffic will not be allowed on the roads from 6 am to 11 pm.

The Caretaker Chief Minister said that heavy traffic is the biggest traffic problem during the day time, and it is also a cause of accidents and environmental pollution.

He said that the implementation of court orders regarding heavy traffic should be ensured, and legal action should be taken for violation of the ban. He hoped that the ban would save precious lives, improve traffic flow, and provide relief to the people.
