Ayesha Omar has praised the Punjab government’s decision to impose heavy fines and jail terms for littering, calling it a much-needed step to protect the environment.

Taking to her Instagram Story, the Bulbulay star lauded Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for enforcing stricter laws against burning and dumping garbage in public spaces.

The new policy, set to be implemented from January 1, introduces fines of up to Rs500,000 and imprisonment of up to seven years for violations.

According to officials, the government has adopted a zero-tolerance approach. Burning garbage will attract a fine of up to Rs500,000 along with imprisonment of up to three years, while burning tyres will carry even harsher penalties, including jail terms of up to seven years.

Applauding the move back home, Ayesha Omar has also been giving fans a glimpse into her recent serene getaway in Switzerland.

Last week, she shared a carousel of photos and videos showcasing her trip, blending scenic beauty with cosy, luxurious moments.

The series opens with a mirror selfie of the actor in a white-and-black graphic print sweater, standing in a sunlit wardrobe.
