Attorney General of Pakistan has demanded the details from the law ministry regarding the recent appointments of the law officers.

“We had an understanding that no law officer would be appointed or posted (without mutual agreement),” read a letter written by AGP Jawed Khan to the law ministry.

According to a newspaper, the law ministry tried to appoint the new law officers before the appointment of the new attorney general.

Referring to that news item, the AGP wrote that the news report created an ambiguity between the offices of the law ministry and that of the attorney general.

It further read that the ministry should issue a clarification on the issue and expressed the hope that both offices would seek smooth relations.

A copy of the letter was sent to the PM Secretariat.
