The wife and children of Khan Muhammad Marri who remained in a private cell for four years were produced before the media in Quetta on Friday, reported 24NewsHd TV channel.
Talking to the media, they thanked the government and said that we have been released from prison after four years.
Earlier, they have been handed over to Khan Muhammad Marri after completing the legal procedure. The woman, who had been presumed dead, and her five children including a girl were produced before the court of a judicial magistrate. Their statements were recorded before the magistrate.
Balochistan Minister for Construction and Communications Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran has been arrested in connection with the illegal detention of the family in his private prison. The police recovered the family from his house.
The recovered family members were brought to Quetta last night.
It is likely that after the burial of the two sons of Khan Muhammad, the family will be shifted to Karachi.
Meanwhile, a special investigation team has reached Kohlu to probe the murder case. The team led by Commandant BC Salman Chaudhry inspected the crime scene. The investigation team recorded the statements of various people in Barkhan and collected evidence.
The statements will be reported to the Marri family.
The sit-in organized by the All Pakistan Marri Ittehad continued for the fourth day. The participants of the protest were divided into two groups. One claimed that their demands have been met and they should leave the protest and bury the dead bodies.
The leader of the Marri Ittehad Mehruddin Marri said that their all demands have been met. "Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran has been arrested and Khan Muhammad Marri's family has been recovered," he added.
Mehruddin alleged that the government is supporting Khetran, thanking the inspector-general (IG) for rescuing the abductees.
He added that the bodies are being taken for a DNA test and their burial will be announced later. Khan Muhammad Marri’s wife Gran Naz and her daughter will be moved to Karachi, he said.
Other groups alleged that all the demands are not met so far. All Pakistan Marri Ittehad chairman Jahangir Marri alleged that the government did not cooperate with them. An FIR should be registered against Khetran and his dismissal order should be issued from the ministry.
Pertinent to mention here, the gruesome incident took place days after a video of a woman with the Holy Quran in her hands was released on social media.
In the video, the woman claimed that she and her children were detained by Balochistan Minister for Construction and Communications Sardar Abdul Rehman Khetran. She pleaded with the public to get her and her children freed.
