The burial of the dead bodies that had been recovered from Barkhan area of Balochistan is expected today, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

Jahangir Marri of All Pakistan Marri Ittehad said that the wife and children of Khan Muhammad Marri had reached Quetta.

“After completing the legal procedure, they will be handed over to Khan Muhammad Marri,” police sources said.

“The burial will be carried out this evening in Quetta or Kohlu with the consent of Khan Muhammad,” they added.

Jahangir Marri said that the wife and children of Khan Muhammad Marri had been made to stay at PTC Police Training Centre.

“The mother is not being allowed to see the dead bodies of her children. The bodies are rotting, and they need to be buried,” he said.

“The wives and children of Khan Muhammad Marri are being pressurised to give statement under Section 161,” he maintained.

“I have talked to Khan Muhammad Marri. His wife is crying to see the dead bodies of her children. Khan Muhammad Marri is not being allowed to bring his family here,” he added.

“If the family of Khan Muhammad Marri is not brought here in half an hour, there will be a shutdown in entire Balochistan,” he warned.

“The government will be responsible if the situation worsens,” he added.

Sherry Rehman’s reaction

PPP leader and Federal Climate Minister Senator Sherry Rehman has said: “Heartbreaking revelations have come out in the post-mortem. No one can undo what the victims and their families have gone through. The brutal violence, killings and desecration of dead bodies have left us all bowing our heads in shame.”

In a tweet posted on Friday, she said “This incident should be investigated as soon as possible and the criminals involved in the incident should be severely punished.”
