IMF predicts Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves to cross $17 billion

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has predicted that Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves will reach to $17.6 billion during the current fiscal year 2026, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

The IMF further stated that foreign exchange reserves are expected to reach $23.3 billion in the next fiscal year.

The State Bank's reserves were $14.5 billion during the last fiscal year. Pakistan's current account is estimated to be negative 0.6 percent of GDP this fiscal year.

Pakistan's current account deficit is likely to be negative 0.4% next fiscal year. The International Monetary Fund projected that unemployment will gradually decrease during the current fiscal year.

The unemployment percentage will remain 7.5 percent, while during the previous fiscal year, Pakistan recorded an unemployment percentage.
