Lawyer gets 6-month imprisonment in contempt of court case

Peshawar High Court has handed down 6 months imprisonment and Rs100,000 fine to a lawyer for using derogatory words against a female judge on social media, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel. 

The contempt of court proceedings were initiated against the lawyer on the complaint of a female civil judge of Swat, which was converted into a contempt of court petition by the Peshawar High Court Chief Justice. 

According to the judgment, Advocate Asadullah was found guilty under Section 3 of the Contempt of Court Ordinance 2004.
