Man sent to jail for harassing woman on social media in Multan

A man has been sentenced to prison for harassing a woman through social media in Multan.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Haider Ali Khan awarded five years imprisonment to the accused, identified as Waseem. The court also imposed a fine of Rs1.5 million on the convict.

Advocate Muhammad Arsalan Khan presented arguments on behalf of the plaintiff during the proceedings.

According to court orders, the accused was sentenced to three years in prison under Section 21 and an additional two years under Section 24.

The case was registered in 2024 with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency after it emerged that the accused had been sending and blackmailing the woman by sharing her indecent pictures and videos with her husband through social media.
