Rinku Singh leaves India’s T20 World Cup camp due to family emergency

Indian cricketer Rinku Singh has left the national team’s camp during the ongoing ICC Men's T20 World Cup due to a family emergency, according to Indian media reports.

The left-handed batter reportedly rushed home after his father, Khanchand Singh, was admitted to a local hospital in Greater Noida in critical condition. He is said to be on ventilator support.

Rinku had arrived in Chennai on February 23 following India’s Super 8 fixture. However, early Tuesday morning, he departed from Chennai to be with his father amid the medical emergency.

The development casts doubt over his availability for India’s upcoming match against Zimbabwe on February 26. He was also absent from the team’s practice session on Monday evening.

Team management has yet to issue an official statement regarding his return, but sources suggest that his participation in the next fixture remains unlikely as he stays by his family’s side during this difficult time.
