The prices of formula milk powder for infants have been increased from Rs200 to Rs650 after government imposed 17 per cent of General Sales Tax (GST) and three per cent of additional sales tax, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

The new tax will hinder the government’s own set nutrition goals for the younger generation. 

Multiple brands have increased the formal power milk by Rs200 to Rs650 per item and the price of 900gm milk powder has surged from Rs2,450 to Rs3,124.

The masses urged the ‘Tabdeeli Sarkar’ to lower the prices and not to deprive the infants from basic item for children —formula mlik powder.

They urged to abolish GST and additional sales tax on formula Malik powder.

Pertinent to note that government slapped new taxes in the recent mini-budget that sailed through the National assembly amid cue and cry from the opposition.
