Fifty illegitimate students of Punjab University (PU) who belong to Islami Jamiat Talba (IJT) were arrested on Monday, 24NewsHD TV channel.
Jamiat workers gathered in the sports department to ensure the expelled students took exams.
The department's management refused to conduct exams of the expelled Jamiat workers. Police acted on a report from the university administration.
It is pertinent to mention that the arrested Jamiat workers were wanted by the police in various FIRs.
The IJT Nazim in PU Abdul Qadir said the police attacked their demonstration that was being conducted to solve the problems of the students.
The organizational head PU Abdul Qadir Afridi said that students should be released immediately.
If any student is harmed, the administration will be responsible, Abdul Qadir added.
