No Weapon, No Firing: Section 144 imposed in Punjab for peaceful elections

The Department of Home Affairs Tuesday imposed Section 144 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) in Punjab and banned the display of weapons and firing till February 08, 2024.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the Department of Home Affairs has issued a notification to impose Section 144 for conducting scheduled general elections on February 08, 2024.
As per the notification, Section 144 has been imposed for violating the Election Commission of Pakistan's (ECP) Code of Conduct from the candidates and supporters.
