Pakistan’s Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a woman in Karachi for allegedly defrauding citizens by offering fake overseas employment, 245NewsHD TV reported on Saturday.

According to an FIA spokesperson, the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Karachi carried out the operation after receiving multiple complaints against the suspect, who was accused of collecting large sums of money by promising jobs abroad.

The spokesperson said the arrested woman took Rs500,000 from a victim on the pretext of arranging employment in Norway.

She failed to produce any valid Overseas Employment Promoter (OEP) licence, a legal requirement for recruiting workers for foreign jobs.

The FIA said an investigation has been launched, and further legal action will be taken in accordance with the law.
