Pakistan Army rescues hundreds from snow-hit regions

The Pakistan Army is actively carrying out rescue and relief operations following heavy snowfall in various parts of the country, including Tirah, Mohmand, Kalam, Swat, Murree, Azad Kashmir, Zhob and Gilgit-Baltistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Army teams are engaged in clearing highways and roads blocked by snow to ensure smooth traffic flow.

Army jawans are also rescuing elderly people, women and children stranded in affected areas and shifting them to safer locations.

Pakistan Army, local administration and Rescue teams have rescued hundreds of people, including women and children, who had been left stranded in Tirah Valley of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), due to heavy snowfall.

People stuck in over 100 vehicles have been moved to safe locations.

Similarly, in Abbaspur, Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), the army jawans and the local administration have rescued 45 people who had been left stranded due to heavy snowfall in the area.

The people were carrying a dead body to Kahuta when they got trapped.

The people have been shifted to nearby homes.

However, Assistant Commissioner Abbaspur has been injured during the operation.

Commissioner Poonch has appealed to the people not to travel during inclement weather.

The army personnel are also carrying out rescue and relief operation in district Kurram, which has also been badly hit by snowfall.

Security forces have cleared the roads buried under snow with the help of heavy machinery and rescued several vehicles, which had got stuck.

Timely efforts made by the army have led to the opening of routes for traffic and earned praised from the locals.

The Pakistan Army is also providing food, shelter and warm clothing to those affected by the severe weather.

Special arrangements have been made to cater to the needs of children, the elderly and persons with disabilities.

These efforts reflect the state’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of its citizens during difficult times.
