CCPO Lahore Additional IG Ghulam Mahmood Dogar Saturday said the Community Guides programme has proved a successful accomplishment of his vision to provide Citizens Centric Policing to the visitors of police stations in a respectful and fear-free atmosphere as now the citizens feel free and at ease to visit police stations in presence of Police Community Guides for the redress of their grievances.

He said Ababeel Squad to curb crimes as well as maintain law and order situations at congested and Crimes Hotspot areas of the city as a support unit to ensure effective patrolling and cordon off the crime scene localities have also been a great success.

“Ababeel Squad has made great efforts to arrest drug dealers, proclaimed offenders as well as action against illegal weapons, alleviating the sense of security among citizens by improving visibility through working in a group of 20 motorbikes.:

Addressing a joint interactive session of Community Guides and personnel of Ababeel Force at District Police Lines Qila Gujjar Singh, he said matters related to efficiency enhancement, improve coordination among Community Guides, SHOs and In Charges Investigation, resolves of collective issues came under discussion in the session.

Commander Lahore Police Ghulam Mahmood Dogar stressed the need to increase the interaction of community guides and share each other experiences and feelings to further facilitate the public through better service delivery.

CCPO Lahore lauded the commendable performances of Community Guides and Ababeel Squad in their respective fields and urged them to follow moral values and ethics during rendering services to citizens. Community Guides shared their success stories regarding guiding and helping visitors of police stations with CCPO Lahore.

Ghulam Mahmood Dogar said the appointment of Community Guides with the rank of Sub Inspectors and Assistant Sub Inspectors at Police stations was the very first step towards change in Thana Culture and promotion of Citizens Centric Policing.

CCPO Lahore further said these Community Guides though police officers are actually representatives of the public in police stations.

“The appointment of the Police Community Guides was made by a survey as well as secret balloting on the basis of their honesty, integrity, humanity and professionalism to serve the citizens with dedication and respect, understanding the importance and sensitivity of their fresh assignments.”
