33 Bangladeshis arrested in Pakistan for trying to enter Iran illegally

In a joint operation near Taftan this week, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and Frontier Corps (FC) apprehended 33 Bangladeshi nationals attempting to illegally cross the Pakistan-Iran border.

According to official sources, the operation took place in the Mashkil area of Chagai district, a remote part of Balochistan often used as a key transit point for irregular migration.

The individuals had reportedly entered Pakistan legally on visit visas during June and July but later attempted to cross into Iran without proper documentation or authorization.

Security forces intercepted the group as they attempted to navigate an unfrequented route near the border. Upon questioning, they were unable to produce valid travel documents permitting entry into Iran.

“All 33 individuals were taken into custody on the spot and handed over to the FIA for further investigation,” a security official confirmed.

Preliminary findings suggest the group may be linked to a cross-border human trafficking network.
