Netizens slam Sangeeta after intimate ‘Mukho’ rehearsal clip surfaces
Veteran Pakistani director Sangeeta’s upcoming Punjabi film ‘Mukho’ has landed in controversy even before its release after a BTS rehearsal clip featuring veteran actor Moammar Rana.
The viral video, circulating across multiple social media platforms, shows veteran filmmaker and actress Sangeeta rehearsing an intimate sequence with fellow actor Moammar Rana on the set of the upcoming Punjabi feature film Mukho. The pair are seen performing to the film's soundtrack, "Jaan Gi," during what appears to be a scene rehearsal.
While some users viewed the clip as a routine behind the scenes moment from the production, many criticized the pairing and questioned the film's creative direction.
One social media user wrote, "Don't tell me they are making a movie from that fund."
Another commented, "Phir yeh log kehte hain awam Pakistani cinema ko support nai karti... apne chacha ke umer ke hero ko kon romance karta dekhna chahega." (Then they complain that people don't support Pakistani cinema... who wants to watch a hero old enough to be an uncle in a romantic role?)
A third user remarked, "And they are back to ruin the film industry once again."
Mukho is an upcoming Punjabi-language feature film directed by veteran actress and filmmaker Sangeeta. The project has gained significant attention for being the first feature film fully funded by the Punjab Government under a regional cinema grant aimed at reviving Punjabi-language filmmaking. The film is currently scheduled for release in December 2026.
The film stars Saima Noor in the titular role of Mukho, alongside Moammar Rana, Meera, Amina Roy, Nasir Chinioti, Momi, and Talash Shah in key roles. While Saima Noor's character has been revealed, the makers have kept the details of the remaining cast members' roles under wraps.
Despite the ongoing criticism, the production remains one of the most anticipated Punjabi film projects, with audiences closely following updates as the release date approaches.
