Pakistan slams attempts aimed at sabotaging Gulf peace accord
Ishaq Dar reaffirms Pakistan’s commitment to advancing cooperation among SCO member states
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar has urged the international community to take advantage of the opportunity provided by US-Iran negotiations to push for a permanent settlement, slamming every attempt aimed at sabotaging the peace agreement, reported 24NEwsHD TV channel.
Addressing the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers’ meeting in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyz Republic, the deputy prime minister thanked the Kyrgyz leadership and Foreign Minister Zheenbek Kulubaev for their warm hospitality and excellent arrangements in hosting the SCO CFM.
About the Middle East conflict, Ishaq Dar said “Dialogue, diplomacy and mutual respect provide the only sustainable way forward to resolve conflicts and achieve durable peace and security.”
Referring to the Islamabad talks in April and subsequent signing of the Islamabad MoU, he said, “This historic breakthrough became possible due to Pakistan’s close engagement with both parties … complimented by our intensive diplomatic outreach to regional and international partners.
“The international community must seize the opportunity provided by the Islamabad MoU and the ongoing technical negotiations between the two parties to push for a permanent, peaceful and durable settlement of this conflict.”
He reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the “Shanghai Spirit” and to advancing cooperation, connectivity, and shared growth among Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member states.

Dar extended felicitations on the SCO’s 25th anniversary and highlighted the Organization’s important work for regional peace, security, prosperity, and sustainable development.
He highlighted Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts for regional peace, including the Islamabad Talks and the subsequent Islamabad MoU, which reflected Pakistan’s commitment to dialogue and diplomacy.
He also thanked his counterparts for their recognition and appreciation of Pakistan’s sincere efforts to promote peace and stability in the region and beyond.
DPM/FM conveyed Pakistan’s readiness to assume the Chairmanship of the SCO Council of Heads of State (CHS) in September 2026 and welcomed all SCO Member States to Pakistan for the CHS Summit in 2027.
