Salman Khan urges students to return home as PM Modi promises tough crackdown
Bollywood superstar Salman Khan has broken his silence on the ongoing exam paper leak controversy, urging students to remain calm and return home after Prime Minister Narendra Modi assured the nation that strict action would be taken against those responsible for the leaks.
Sharing a photo of himself holding a "Being Human" card on Instagram, Salman posted a heartfelt message expressing concern for students and their families.
In his caption, he wrote, "The students are at top priority, educationally n security-wise, so they need not worry and have their parents worried for them."
Through his message, Salman stressed that students should prioritize their education and safety while assuring them that the authorities would take strict action against those responsible.
Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's statement, Salman said he was confident those behind the paper leak would face strict action. He urged students to return to their homes and be with their families instead of continuing to worry about the situation.
The actor also addressed education activist Sonam Wangchuk, who has been protesting over education-related issues.
Salman appealed to him to end his protest, writing, "Sonam, it's done, bro. Don't extend this. Keep the spirit for another day if there be a need, which I doubt, n eat something. If u want, will send u food from home." His message reflected concern for Wangchuk's well-being while expressing hope that the issue would soon be resolved.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced that the government is preparing tougher measures to tackle examination paper leaks.
He said several people allegedly linked to the leaks had already been arrested over the past two and a half months, adding that the government ensured nearly 2.2 million students were able to sit their examinations without losing an academic year.
Modi also revealed that a fast-track legal framework will be presented before the Union Cabinet, with the proposed legislation expected to be introduced in Parliament to strengthen action against future examination paper leaks.
As students continue to demand accountability and transparency, all eyes are now on the government's next steps as the proposed reforms move closer to becoming law.
