The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) started zooming in on another PML-N leader – Khawaja Asif – and summoned him on June 26 at 11am to its Lahore office, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
Quoting sources, the TV channel said that Khawaja Asif would be grilled for the Cantt Housing Scheme as he has been accused of selling more than the available land.
Khawaja Asif, who is also accused of illegal use of powers, has been asked to appear in person along with the relevant record.
But he is not the only person nominated in the case as his family members are also mentioned in the matter.
The NAB is investigating about the source of income which was used for investment by the senior PML-N leader and other family members.
The Sharif family and several party leaders are currently being investigated by the anti-graft body in different cases, which has been described as political victimisation by the PML-N.
That’s why the PML-N leadership has been calling for the disbandment of NAB, accusing it of being influenced by the PTI government which is trying to silence the critics and change their loyalties.
Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid had earlier claimed that the NAB would act like a Tarzan after Eid and many opposition members, especially those from the PML-N, were to be jailed.
