Sixty per cent of policepersons of Kasur has been found 'hooked to different drugs', 24 NewsHD TV Channel reported on Wednesday.

According to a private medical lab test reports, 30 out of 50 policepersons were using various drugs.

On the directives of Punjab police chief, the cops underwent the test by a a private lab that had sealed a deal with the department.

Kasur District Police Officer (DPO) Imran Khishwar said show-cause notices were served on all these cops and action will be taken if they fail to respond satisfactorily.

Samples of 50 officials, selected on an internal intelligence basis, were collected in the district a couple of days ago. 

A media report cited an official as saying that most of the policemen start using drugs when they get these free of cost so a strict system of check and balance should be in place at ‘malkhana’ level.

Another policeman, who has been declared a junkie in the test report, said the high-ups should also undergo the test.
