Really a bad news for the people of Karachi as the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) on Friday notified Rs5.27 per unit increase in the electricity prices, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The NEPRA announced the increase under the fuel adjustment for the month of April.

The decision will apply to all consumers of Karachi-Electric (K-Electric) except those who are lifeline.

The K-Electric had requested for Rs5.31 per unit hike in the prices.

In this connection, the Authority had held the hearing on June 14, 2022.

Prior to that in March, Rs4.83 had been charged from FCA consumers which was for a period of one month.
