Court grants physical remand of Youtuber Razi Tahir in tweet case
A district court in Islamabad has handed YouTuber Razi Tahir over to the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) on a two-day physical remand in a case related to controversial tweets concerning an alleged meeting between PTI founder Imran Khan and a former senior personality.
Reported 24NewsHD TV channel, the hearing was held at the District and Sessions Courts Islamabad before Judicial Magistrate Abbas Shah, where NCCIA officials sought a ten-day physical remand of the accused.
During the proceedings, NCCIA informed the court that physical remand was required for the recovery of mobile phones and other electronic devices allegedly linked to the case.
After hearing the arguments, the court approved a two-day physical remand instead of the ten days requested by the agency.
The judge directed investigators to produce Razi Tahir before the court again on June 26 after the completion of the remand period.
The case pertains to controversial tweets regarding an alleged meeting between the PTI founder and a former high-ranking personality.
Razi Tahir was arrested a day earlier after his pre-arrest bail application was dismissed by the court.
