Resham’s fiery response to langar video critics sparks debate online

Pakistani actress Resham has responded to criticism surrounding a viral video of her distributing langar, saying people should understand the realities of managing large crowds before passing judgment.

The actress recently came under scrutiny after a video circulated online showing her asking people not to form multiple lines while distributing food.

In the clip, she could also be heard expressing frustration over some individuals allegedly taking extra rotis, leading some social media users to accuse her and her niece of speaking too harshly to those waiting for food.

Responding to the backlash, Resham shared a detailed explanation and said many people had formed opinions without knowing the full situation. She stressed that no individual has the power to feed others on their own and that it is ultimately Allah who provides sustenance and decides who receives it.

According to Resham, the crowd had become extremely difficult to manage, forcing her team to raise their voices to maintain order. She explained that when a few people break the queue or attempt to take more food than necessary, it directly affects hundreds of others patiently waiting for their share.

The actress revealed that her team prepares food daily for hundreds of people and takes special care in arranging the langar. She said if one person takes four or five extra rotis, it reduces the food available for other mothers, sisters, and families standing in line.

Resham also spoke about the physical exhaustion involved in the effort. She said she and her team spend hours distributing food in intense heat and often return completely drenched in sweat.

The actress added that she has been dealing with severe dehydration in recent days because of the demanding conditions.

Addressing those who described her charitable work as “drama,” Resham delivered a strong message. She said anyone who believes the work is merely for attention is welcome to try doing it themselves.

According to the actress, such efforts require money, sincere intentions, energy, and dedication. She argued that standing in extreme heat for hours while managing large crowds is far more difficult than many people imagine.

Resham also defended her niece, whose raised voice in the viral clip became a topic of discussion online. She explained that the young girl was only trying to stop people from breaking the queue so food could be distributed fairly and efficiently.

The video has sparked mixed reactions on social media.
