Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq on Tuesday said the current state of affairs amid the coronavirus pandemic required a national action plan, as he stressed the need for coordinated efforts to tackle the crisis.
Replying to different questions asked by the hosts at 24NewsHD daily morning show 24@9, Siraj called for providing relief to those having an income less than Rs25,000 per month so that they could counter the harsh impacts of the pandemic. His party had earlier called for waiving the utilities’ bills, he added.
About building a national consensus, the Jamaat-e-Islami chief said they had urged the government to contact all the political parties on the issue.
Last week, Siraj had listed these demands at a press conference, saying the most affected section of the society was the daily wagers and the government must provide relief to them.
