Prisoner tested positive for coronavirus at Camp Jail Lahore

A prisoner at the Camp Jail, Lahore, has been found to be infected by coronavirus after test, the prison authorities confirmed on Tuesday.

Abid was shifted to jail in the first week of the current month. He had returned from Italy last month before being arrested on drug trafficking charges.

He had informed the prison officials about fever on March 18 after which he was tested for coronavirus on 21st.

Abid was shifted to a hospital after a report about him being tested positive was received Monday night.

According to the official figures, the number of coronavirus cases in Punjab has reached 249 with the addition of three new ones. Meanwhile, there are a total of 879 infected persons in Pakistan.
