Sanya Malhotra turns sinister bride in chilling ‘Sundar Poonam’ first look

Sanya Malhotra is set to send chills down spines with her haunting transformation into a mysterious bride in the first look of Sundar Poonam.

Draped in a striking red lehenga, the actress appears serene yet unsettling, hinting at a dark thriller where a romantic honeymoon spirals into a chilling mystery.

Unveiled at a Prime Video event, the teaser introduces Malhotra as Poonam, a newlywed whose seemingly perfect life hides dangerous secrets. The film blends romance with psychological suspense, teasing obsession, deception, and a descent into darkness.

The first glimpse shows Poonam getting ready as a bride, applying lipstick and smiling into the mirror while her phone lights up with repeated calls from “Sundar” and “Raju,” hinting at a possible double life. The visuals are layered with tension, suggesting that things are far from what they seem.

An eerie voiceover, styled like a breaking news report, reveals that a newly married couple from Chandigarh has gone missing during their honeymoon in Kashmir, setting the stage for a gripping investigation.

The story is said to be inspired by a real-life 2025 honeymoon murder case involving Indore-based businessman Raja Raghuvanshi. What begins as a dreamy getaway soon turns into a sinister tale of betrayal, hidden pasts, and shocking twists.

Alongside Malhotra, Aditya Rawal plays a key role in the film, directed by Pulkit. Known for her versatile performances in films like Dangal and Jawan, Malhotra takes on a darker, more complex role this time.

Sundar Poonam will stream on Prime Video, though the release date has not yet been announced.
