Saud Shakeel targets spot in Pakistan white-ball squad ahead of PSL 11
Saud Shakeel, captain of Quetta Gladiators, has expressed optimism about earning a place in Pakistan’s white-ball squad through strong performances in the upcoming 11th edition of the Pakistan Super League.
Speaking to the media ahead of the new season, Shakeel said his team delivered an impressive campaign last year but fell short in the final stages.
He added that consistent performances in the tournament could strengthen his case for selection in the national limited-overs setup.
The Gladiators skipper also highlighted changes in the squad, noting the inclusion of new fast bowlers. He said the team aims to utilise its revamped pace attack to achieve solid results in the competition.
Shakeel urged fans to support the side from home as the franchise looks to build on its previous performances.
Addressing remarks made in a recent podcast regarding fellow fast bowlers Shaheen Afridi and Haris Rauf, Shakeel clarified that the comments were made in a light-hearted manner.
