Erdogan phones Alvi, greets Pakistanis on Eid, shows grief over plane crash

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Sunday called his Pakistani counterpart Arif Alvi to greet him and the entire Pakistani nation on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
On this occasion, the Turkish president also expressed his sympathies with the families of those who were killed in a PIA plane crash in Karachi on Friday. He said that Turkey stands by Pakistan in this hour of trial.
President Arif Alvi also extended Eid greetings to the Turkish president and the entire Turkish nation. He said he was hopeful that the world would be able to eradicate the novel coronavirus soon. He thanked the Turkish president for taking good care of the Pakistanis living in Turkey and providing Pakistan safety kits and other protective gear to deal with the coronavirus pandemic. He thanked his Turkish counterpart for extending his sympathies to the families of those who were killed in the PIA plane crash in Karachi on Friday. He said that Turkish president’s gesture reflected the historic and durable relations between the two countries and his kind words would help lift morale of the grieving families. He reiterated that Pakistan would continue to strengthen relations between the two countries.
