A Quetta-bound PIA flight escaped a disaster on Wednesday when a bird hit the plane during the take-off at Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

As many as 120 passengers were on board the PIA flight PK-310 when the bird hit the plane. The pilot used his experience and was able to land the Airbus 320 back at the Karachi Airport.

During his contact with the Air Traffic Controller, the pilot informed that a technical fault has developed in the plane following the bird hit.

After landing, the plane was being inspected by PIA engineers and Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) officials.

A CAA spokesman confirmed the bird strike, saying CAA officials are inspecting the plane which was called back when it was flying over Hub Dam.

He said the plane will take off for Quetta after removing the technical fault.
